A CAMPAIGN FROM READY PANTRY

Canned Me Down

Good food.
Passed forward.

Keep useful food ready at home, with less to organise each year. Canned Me Down pairs a food safety net with Ready Pantry’s planned managed refresh: reminders, replacement food and donation handoff in one simple routine, designed to keep costs reasonable.

A planned pantry. A useful next home.

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

Something useful.
Thoughtfully passed along.

The name borrows from “hand-me-down”: passing something useful along with care. Here, that means unopened, commercially packaged food that receiving organizations inspect and choose to accept.

One coordinated refresh. Sensible costs. The planned service brings the annual reminder, replacement supply and handoff of suitable unused cans together. Shared purchasing, packing and local exchange days are designed to reduce duplicated work and keep the process affordable. You keep your safety net without organising every step yourself.

Your household stays supplied first. If you need the food, use it. Donation is optional, and receiving partners decide what they need.

THE CANNED ME DOWN CYCLE

A planned handoff, with choice and care.

01 / STOCK

Choose your safety net.

Start with food that suits your household and the receiving partner’s accepted products and date requirements.

02 / KEEP

Ready when needed.

Store your food properly. Use it whenever you need it, and replenish what you use.

03 / REPLACE

Your refresh, coordinated.

The planned service brings reminders and replacement food into one annual exchange. Fresh cans go into your pantry first, keeping your household supplied.

04 / PASS FORWARD

A simpler local handoff.

The planned exchange combines replacement with collection of suitable unused cans. Giving remains optional; receiving partners inspect, accept and distribute the food they can use.

THE CANNED ME DOWN COMMUNITY
